Professional Developement @ Makassed ABAT Primary School

On Thursday 21st  November 2012, we held an indoor training on how to use the "Picture trail" online program as one of our sessions for the continuous professional development plan for the academic year 2012-2013.

All Kindergarten and primary teachers participatied in the training session that was given by Ms Tharwat Al Mir and Ms. Samar Al Masri.

عيد الاستقلال في صفّ الروضة أولى (ب).

تعتبر مرحلة الطفولة من أهم المراحل لغرس المفاهيم والمعارف والقيم ، وخاصة المتعلقة بالوطن من وطنية ومواطنة ، وذلك لأن ترسيخها في مرحلة الطفولة ، وتنشئة الطفل عليها يجعلها عنصراً مكوناً في بناء شخصيته. 
والطفل منذ مراحل نموه الأولى يجب أن يتعلم أنه يعيش في مجتمع ، وأنه عنصر فيه ، ويجب أن يكون صالحاً وقادراً على تحمل المسؤولية والمشاركة في نموه وتقدمه ورقيّه بالجد والعمل والكفاح، ويجب أن ينشأ منذ مراحل عمره الأولى على الولاء والانتماء وحب الوطن . 
وهناك العديد من المؤسسات التي تعمل على تشكيل وتنمية الوطنية والمواطنة عند الفرد كالأسرة ،والمدرسة ، ووسائل الإعلام ، إلا أن الأسرة والمدرسة تعتبران أهم المؤسسات في إعداد الأطفال، وتربيتهم على الوطنية والمواطنة.

وتبرز اليوم أهمية الوطنية والمواطنة ، من أجل الحفاظ على الهوية الخاصة بكل مجتمع ،وهذا لا يعني أن الحل يكمن في الانكفاء على الذات ، والابتعاد عن العالم الذي أصبح قرية صغيرة ، إنما يعني إكساب المناعة لكل فرد من خلال تربيته تربية وطنية تركز على تزويده بالمعارف ، والقيم ، والمبادئ والمهارات التي يستطيع بها التفاعل مع العالم المعاصر دون أن يؤثر ذلك على شخصيته الوطنية. 

فغرس مشاعر الحب والولاء التي تكمن في الانتماء للوطن ، وحب للبلد ، وللأرض ، وللشعب ، وفخر بالتراث والحضارة ، وتتجلى مظاهرها في الالتزام بالحقوق والواجبات ، واحترام القوانين السائدة في الوطن والتوحد معه والعمل على حمايته ، والدفاع عنه وقت الأزمات بكل غال ونفيس ، حرصا على تماسكه ، ووحدته ، واستمرارية بقائه وسلامته ، وعملا على نمائه وتقدمه.

فيا أطفالي ، أحبوا وطنكم ، واحموه ،بكل ما أوتيتم من قوّة ، فأنتم قوّة التغيير 

المستقبليّة ، القادرة على قلب المقاييس...

كل ذكرى إستقلال و أنتم بألف خير....

Pizza Cell

When we combine fun and learning, great educational results are obtained with an unforgettable child’s smile. Six graders at ABAT College organized a “Pizza cell” activity related to the cell organelle’s lesson. The activity’s purpose was to model how organelles are suspended in the cell’s cytoplasm.

 The students prepared beforehand the pizza ingredients that they will use to represent the various organelles such as: onions for endoplasmic reticulum and green pepper for Golgi bodies. Throughout this exploration, students deepened their knowledge about cell organelles and their functions. At the same time, this independent inquiry helped students clarify misconceptions about the distinctions between animal and plant cells.

One of the unforgettable and happy moments we shared was when a group of students was crowned for solving a word puzzle and revealing its hidden message during a very short time.

After all, we cannot but welcome the appreciate participation of our dear parents and hope they have enjoyed our activity and tasting our delicious pizza.

Finally, our Special thanks is dedicated to our precious principal Mrs. Ghina AlBadawi and our trustworthy Ms. Dounia Baddereddine. I cannot also forget my handy cooperative colleagues: Ms. Sahar, Mrs. Nisreen, and Mrs. Jinan.
