Make groups of ten and ones.(Grade One students)

This is how first graders at ABAT use cubes to model the numbers. They make groups of ten and ones.

Our ABAT Storytellers Sailing on the British Council "KIDS READ" Ship!

Our young primary students at ABAT are participating in the "Kids Read"! What is it about? READ along to find out!
"Kids Read" is a reading program, sponsored exclusively by HSBC Bank Middle East Ltd & Affiliates and addresses school primary students, encouraging them to read for pleasure, inside and outside the classroom.
Kids Read will run initially for one academic year in 13 countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Palestinian Territories, Qatar and United Arab Emirates, and it will include reading, teacher training, competitions, community events and much much more. Around 25.000 students are involved in this event... quite a huge number!
Our students from grades 1 to 6 told their favorite stories using different storytelling techniques. With the assistance of our outstanding creative English teachers, our children performed beautifully and were videotaped for the sake of the competition. Our videos were uploaded and waiting to be evaluated! So pray for us, everyone!
Last but not least, a bunch of thanks to all those who made this work see the light:
Our dear students: Aya, Shaza, Sara, Rana, and Aya... Girls, YOU SIMPLY ROCK!!!
Our awesome hardworking English teachers: Sara, Jinan, Samar, Hiba... I can't mention my name you know :) ... Dears, YOU ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD!
Our project coordinator Dunia
Our vigilant head of department Mrs. Najwa
and surely our beloved principal Mrs. Ghina whose utmost energy constantly pushes us forward...
Hats off to you all, and best wishes to ABAT!
P.S. You'll be hearing good news from us VERY SOON!!!

A Must Read... It Would Add a Smile to Your Day!!!

What Can WE Learn from Our Kids?

- It's more fun to colour outside the lines.
- If you're going to draw on the wall, do it behind the couch.
- Even Popeye didn't eat his spinach until he absolutely had to.
- If your pet doesn't like someone, you probably shouldn't either.
- Sometimes you have to take the test before you've finished studying.
- If you want a kitten, start out asking for a horse.
- There is no good reason why clothes have to match.
- If the horse you're drawing looks more like a dog, make it a dog.
- Save a place in lines for your friends.
- Just keep banging until someone opens the door.
- Making your bed is a waste of time.
- Make up the rules as you go along.
- It doesn't matter who started it.
- Ask for sprinkles.
- Hang on tight.
- Ask "why" until you understand.
