Pizza Cell

When we combine fun and learning, great educational results are obtained with an unforgettable child’s smile. Six graders at ABAT College organized a “Pizza cell” activity related to the cell organelle’s lesson. The activity’s purpose was to model how organelles are suspended in the cell’s cytoplasm.

 The students prepared beforehand the pizza ingredients that they will use to represent the various organelles such as: onions for endoplasmic reticulum and green pepper for Golgi bodies. Throughout this exploration, students deepened their knowledge about cell organelles and their functions. At the same time, this independent inquiry helped students clarify misconceptions about the distinctions between animal and plant cells.

One of the unforgettable and happy moments we shared was when a group of students was crowned for solving a word puzzle and revealing its hidden message during a very short time.

After all, we cannot but welcome the appreciate participation of our dear parents and hope they have enjoyed our activity and tasting our delicious pizza.

The concentration of reactants, the temperature at which the reaction is occurring,and the presence of substances other than the reactants (catalysts, inhibitors, ........) are among the factors that affects the rate of a reaction.

جمعيّة المقاصد مع السّيّدة دنيا كريّم عن الدراما التعليميّة وهي عبارة عن نشاطات يقوم بها الأطفال محاولين تفهّم

أدوار الكبار وحياتهم وذلك من خلال تقمّص شخصيّاتهم ونماذج حياتهم الإنسانيّة والمادّيّة وتناولت النقاط التالية

تنميّة التّفكير الإبداعي عند الأطفال . تنميّة قدرة الطفل على تجاوز حدود الواقع وتلبية حاجاته بصورة تعويضيّة

تفريغ مشاعر التوتّر والضيق والغضب التي يعاني منها الطفل بطريقة صحيحة . مساعدة الطفل على فهم وجهات

نظر الآخرين من خلال أدائه لدورهم .كما نوقشت المعايير والاستراتيجيّات التي يجب مراعاتها من قبل المعلّم

Mosaic in Motion Film Production

The British Council in collaboration with 4Motion Dance Theatre Company will organise the facilitation of a six-day performance project between the 3rd – 8th December 2012 working everyday in the afternoon with up to 40 students between the ages of 14-18 years. Our Makassed school is participating along with another seven public and private schools in Lebanon.

The six-day performance project will offer an insight into 4Motion’s contemporary dance theatre techniques and choreography devices to create a performance. 

The program includes:

·         Dance fitness and contemporary technique

·         Introduction to choreography devices

·         Performance skills for dance and film performances

·         Developing different techniques, including travel sequence

·         Experimental choreography and improvisation tasks

·         Developing complex movement phrases and travel sequences

·         Structure choreography sections

·         Develop performance skills

·         Rehearse structured choreography working on entrances and exits

·         Dress & technical rehearsal

After all the previous preparations our students will perform in a community event, showcasing their performance to family, friends and school communities. ThenMotion Dance Theatre Company will facilitate a two-day film project. Theywill work intensively over two days to choreograph and shoot the film on different locations in Lebanon.  Mosaics in Motion film will be processed, edited and produced back in the UK and will be posted/uploaded to the British Council and our school blog and web site in January 2013. ABAT Students Celebrating Adha in their Own Way

With the assistance of Mrs. Rima Gazal and Mrs. Sara Hassoun, students performed few islamic songs related to pilgrimage and wore the white clothes like pilgrims do in Makkah. 

The celebration included words for teachers and students and a poetry recital.

يوم المشاعر في صفّ الروضة أولى "ب"

من أهم عناصر النمو النفسي السليم عند الأطفال،التعبير بحريّة عمّا يخالجهم من أحاسيس و مشاعر مختلفة، وممّا يجعل ذلك ممكنا"، فهمهم لهذه الأحاسيس و التحكم ،قدر الإمكان،بردّات الفعل الصادرة عنها.

إنطلاقا" من ذلك تناولت مجموعة "طفولتي كنزي" لمنهج اللّغة العربيّة هذا الموضوع ،في وحدة خاصّة ،تحت  عنوان "أنا و مشاعري"، وفي ختام هذه الوحدة إحتفل صفّ الروضة أولى "ب" بيوم المشاعر ،الذي تخلّله مجموعة من الأنشطة المتنوعة والمسليّة،فإستمتعوا بمشاهدتها
