ABAT students have collected a small amount of money during the first hundred days of school as a donation to Dar Alaajaza. And now, in celebration of Mother’s Day, a group of grade five students went a visit to Dar Alaajaza to reinforce their social and communication skills, and to offer their generous contribution, and see the smile on their grandparents’ faces. The visit was so heart touching….. Whatever we say, words can’t describe the emotions that filled our soul that day. When I remember I become speechless.

Nutrition Activity for Grade One Fruits Day Salad

Eating fruits make it simple to take in a variety of important vitamins and minerals. Your body relies on these substances to perform almost all of its physiological processes, from digestion to bone and muscle growth. With all the vitamins, minerals, flavonoids and fiber found in fruits, eating them daily can keep you healthier for longer. Consuming low calorie fruits instead of sugar-laden snacks can help you manage your weight more effectively -- cutting out processed sugar and reducing your weight reduces your risk for type 2 diabetes. A healthy diet that includes a variety of fruits may also protect against certain cancers, such as mouth, stomach and colorectal cancer. The nutrients in fruits may also help prevent arthritis, osteoporosis and improve your memory.

ADVANTAGES OF HEALTHY EATING FOR CHILDREN

Getting children to eat healthy foods may be a difficult task at times for parents, but it is necessary for proper growth and development throughout childhood. Parents can offer a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and healthy proteins to make sure their kids get the nutrients they need. The benefits of healthy eating for children last a lifetime, because the effects on childhood health often translate to how healthy the kid will be later in life.

Make Today the Day to Stop Smoking!

The grade sixth science curriculum includes many important themes related to our daily life; the most interesting one is the effect of smoking on our different organ systems. Only through the mutual interaction of students with their teachers and their other classmates getting to their parents we were able to accomplish the aim of this project “make today the day to stop smoking”. Students started first by working on this project by collecting the required data and summarizing it. Then they designed a box containing 10 cards including the essential information about the effects of smoking on our health and presented it in front of their smoking teachers and in front of their peers in grades four and five. Afterwards, a discussion occurred between students where some asked specific questions and others reflected what they understood. As for the parents, a message was sent to them by their own children as an advice to stop smoking. The most striking thing the students came up with from this project was that all of them promised that they will never smoke, and not even try one cigarette; not forgetting about their boundless enthusiasm during their presentation.
